Below are details on some of our many past projects. You can also view our slideshow.
Main Street Conversion
The “Main Street” conversions turned ugly ducking gas stations into architecturally pleasing additions to village main streets in need of prime space but with no tolerance for new commercial buildings. The “Main Street” conversions are an example of the sensitivity Silvia and Silvia shows in making the needs of business blend with community appeal.
Cape Cod Center
The Cape Cod Center, located along Route 132 in Hyannis, provides a mix of retail and professional office space to the central Hyannis area. A centrally located atrium connects the two functions and provides access to Shallow Pond beyond. In addition to constructing this complex, Silvia and Silvia built the interior offices for law firms, brokerage firms, and retail tenants currently occupying the development.
812 Main Street
This construction project located on Main Street, in the center of the dynamic and thriving village of Osterville, provides leasable, professional office space spread out on three floors. Parking is provided in the rear of the building.
1284 Main Street
The design and development of this office complex for Silvia and Silvia was influenced by the character of typical Cape Cod residential properties. The scale of the professional office, garage and adjoining mill workshop is significantly reduced by the careful separation of the functions into what appear as three separate residential structures. The view from Main Street of bay windows, roof dormers, and standard double hung windows, make this 9,978 sq./ft. office complex fit in well with its Osterville neighbors.
3261 Main Street
Located directly across the street from the Barnstable County state courthouse, the renovation and conversion of this old gas station created an ideal location for legal offices and a small sandwich shop serving the courthouse and the local village.
Attucks Way
683 Main Street
This project entailed the reconstruction of the historic site of the Nehemiah Lovell House c 1800-1994 along with the careful design and insertion on the site of additional buildings for office use, maximizing the site's development. Located along the edge of Osterville's commercial center, this cluster of three buildings provides a comfortable neighborhood professional office complex. The buildings pitched shingle roofs, wood shingle siding, double hung windows and rooftop cupola makes the complex fit in with its residential neighbors to the south and across the street. The new building on this site, housing the US trust Company, blends in with its neighbors so well that it is difficult to distinguish the new construction from the existing. The historically constructed home/office is distinguished from the office building additions by its red cedar roof shingles. Narrow walkways between the buildings, seaside type lanterns to light your path at night, given the complex an Old World feel.
14 West Main Street
The location of this retail operation on West Main Street is near the center of Hyannis across from the Melody Tent.
Silvia Aviation
Newly constructed state-of-the-art aircraft terminal located at the Barnstable municipal Airport. Aircraft are stored in their own personal unit of solid steel construction with bi-fold doors. In addition, each hangar has sealed concrete flooring complete with radiant hot water heat creating a comfortable environment for aircraft and passengers during inclement pre-flighting. For added protection, a fire sprinkler system is installed in each unit. Convenient pilots lounge complete with telephone and DSL lines allows pilots to file flight plans and utilize up-to-the-minute weather information. These hangars are located on the east side of the Barnstable Airport with easy operating access to and from the runways with less congestion of aircraft.
